Master Zhou Xuan Yun (周玄云) was raised on the most sacred mountain in China, Wudang Mountain, where he trained and later worked as an instructor of Taiji Quan (Tai Chi Chuan), Kung Fu, and weaponry.
Xuan Yun is also an ordained Daoist priest, trained in the ritual arts, chanting, divination, and qigong.
Dedicating his life to passing on the Wudang arts, Xuan Yun divides his time between the United States and China, offering classes and workshops on traditional Wudang martial arts, qigong, and Daoist philosophy.

Rick is a Managing Director and Co-Founder of Cannon Search Partners, an IT recruiting and consulting firm based in downtown Boston. He’s a graduate of Phillips Academy Andover and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Connecticut College with his senior year abroad at the University of Nottingham, England. Rick has been practicing martial arts since 2001 and joined Zhou Xuan Yun’s class in downtown Boston in 2011. He lives in South Hamilton, MA with his wife Brianne and son Crew.
Treasurer – Sophia Chan, DPT, MAOM, Lic.Ac.
Sophia grew up in New York City, where she began her martial arts training in Shotokan Karate before switching over to Contemporary Chinese Wushu.
Since coming to Boston, she has dipped her feet in Capoeira, Muay Thai, and Brazilian Jujitsu before meeting Zhou Xuan Yun in 2009, and has since been studying Wudang Kung Fu and Taiji exclusively. Sophia has over 13 years of experience training and instructing in the martial arts.
She holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Boston University, and in 2012 graduated from the New England School of Acupuncutre, receiving her Master in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She is licensed to practice physical therapy and acupuncture in the state of Massachusetts.
Clerk – Henry Lee, MAOM, Lic. Ac.
Henry is a Boston native who has held a deep interest in Chinese culture since childhood. He has over 13 years of experience in training and instructing in the Chinese martial arts, beginning with Contemporary Wushu before shifting to the more traditional Jow Ga system.
Since 2009, Henry has been training under Master Zhou Xuan Yun in Wudang Kung Fu, Taiji, and Xing Yi. He graduated from the New England School of Acupuncture in 2012 earning his Master in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and is currently licensed to practice in the state of Massachusetts.

Kathleen, president of NEVA Associates has worked in the field of noise and vibration control for more than 20 years. After graduating from Chatham College with a degree in Asian Studies, she was awarded a Masters Degree Research Fellowship to the University of Hong Kong. After the completion of that program, she was employed by British Petroleum as the Manager of Materials Management Division for Prudhoe Bay. BP sponsored her for a degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Alaska.
In 1994, Kathleen Kondylas started her own business in noise and vibration control, completing projects such as the Big Dig in Boston, MA, the Oakland Bay Bridge Reconstruction in San Francisco, CA and a drilling platform in the Atlantic Ocean. Besides projects in the US, she has worked on aircraft carriers for the Italian navy, defense system in Australia as well as numerous projects in England, Egypt, Switzerland and Saudi Arabia. She continues to work on multiple noise and vibration control projects to create better environments in various communities.
When not working, Kathleen enjoys studying various forms of taiji and building villages.
