About Nanyue (Heng Mountain)

55efaea2b1545

Heng Mountain (衡山) is located in Hunan Province. As one of the Five Great Mountains of China, it is also known as the “Southern Mountain” (南岳) . The mountain is said to have four oceans: oceans of flowers, oceans of trees, oceans of clouds, and oceans of snow in the winter. At the foot of the mountain is the Grand Temple, the largest temple in southern China. The Grand Temple is also a well-known Buddhist pilgrimage site. Daoist priests and Buddhist monks can be found side by side in this sacred place.
